Church

Today was the first Sunday here. Last night we talked with Phyllis to figure out where our church building was. Kirsten and I were both so excited to go to church, meet new people, and to be spiritually uplifted.

This morning as we were eating breakfast Phyllis walked out of her bedroom and asked us if we wanted to go to church with her today instead of going to our ward/church. This was a really interesting experience. We sang a lot of new songs, listened to multiple prayers, and enjoyed a lesson taught by Pastor Kevin, a guest Pastor. Pastor Matt, the actual Pastor of this congregation is such a funny man. As we were talking with him Kirsten and I were both dying of laughter.

After the actual service they have morning tea together as a congregation. This is where they have coffee, tea and snacks to munch and mingle, much like a BYU singles ward. This was so much fun to talk to the people. Kirsten and I met a really nice girl named Nicoletta. She gave us so many different ideas on what to do while we are here. She also gave us her entertainment book full of discounts for things all around New Zealand. This entertainment book made my day! Who doesn't like a good discount?
