The first day we arrived in Cairns (pronounced cans), Australia. It was quite the ordeal to wake up at 2:50am to be at the airport by 4:00am and waking up with the flu. Fun stuff.
It turned out fine though because our flight ended up being 5 hours long so I
got to sleep the entire time. Then we arrived at the hotel and I got to sleep
for another few hours while everybody else went and laid out by the pool.
Afterwards we all went into town. We all thought it was
quite funny when we asked how far town was and the group of people we asked
said it was “really far”. It was only about 3k. After all the walking we have
done to get places in New Zealand, this was absolutely nothing.
There was this cool place that was basically set up like a
flea market that had all sorts of neat things. It was definitely worth getting
out of bed.
